Mitcham Ward

On Saturday night we received our ward assignments, and I have been looking forward to this so much.I have like 8 really great girl friends here and basically they are all in a ward together and i'm not. It's not that it really bugged me it's just that I was worried. Like dang I want to be in that ward with them... But I also got put in a group with some really great people and so i'm thankful for this opportunity to get to know some other people a little better.

It took about an hour and a half to get all the way to church and about 20 U.S dollars but it was definitely worth it. When we got there we were a huge chunk of the ward. It was very small and largely African but we were welcomed with open arms and I instantly felt so loved and welcomed. I ended up being in primary and my calling is to teach Sharing Time to the kids. There aren't enough children to break it up into individual classes so its just one larger group!

Something that happened that made my heart so happy was that the lesson was about Elder Kikuchi and his missionary work. They were so fond of him and his story and the personal connection that was there for me made me feel like it was no coincidence that I was here that day.Elder Kikuchi was my dad's mission president and he also married my sister and husband in the Salt Lake Temple. He has always been such a sweet and loving guy to our family and it was really cool to be hearing stories of him all the way across the world.

I am so beyond thankful for the oppurtunity that i have to be a member of the Mitcham Ward for the next couple of weeks. I know that it will be an amazing opportunity.

Later on Sunday evening we decided to take a bike ride through Kensington Gardens & Hyde Park.. It was the day of Princess Charlotte's Christening and so we stalk their house, naturally. Every time that we see that their Range Rovers are there I freak out a little bit. I'm a William and Kate groupy I swear. The  gates outside have also been decorated by locals for Princess Diana's birthday that was this passed week.

You know how every American feels about a British accent.. we love them. Since being here we kind of wondered what British Boys think of our American Accents... don't worry we found out when we met some new cute friends in the park.. Have no fear they said American Accents are "Hot".. knew it!

Xx,

Kenz

oh p.s. we just booked flights for our free travel days to Lake Geneva, Switzerland and Annecy, France and i'm freaking out a little. we were going to hit up Italy but that's such a daunting task that needs more than four days sooooo...
