A Travel Diary || Paris, France

Paris, France

Bonjour!! Oh La La, where to begin? After an amazing few days in London we got on a train through the English Channel and popped up in Paris, and HOLY MOLY it is more than you could ever dream that it would be. Paris in the spring is definitely a site to see, fresh blooms on every corner and cherry blossom trees around the base of the Tour de Eiffel (insert heart eye emoji here) I mean come on, whats not to love!?

Bike Ride + Jardin de Tulleries:

Our first full day in Paris was a gorgeous one. We took a bike tour of the city which was such a great way to get acclimated to our surroundings, plus it was super fun. We took a break in Jardin de Tulleries, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a more beautiful or refreshing setting to enjoy our lunch! The spring flowers were in full bloom beneath the clear blue sky and it was the perfect temperature. I LOVE Paris in the spring!

Eiffel Tower:

I would have to say that one of the best moments of my life was taking an afternoon nap under the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. Later on in the trip we went to the top and it was surreal. Of course being on top of the tower offered the most gorgeous view of the city. Paris is so rich with history and beauty and it was honestly a dream.

The Arc de Triumph:

The Arc de Triumph was a major hit, I honestly have never seen my friend, Daniel so happy in his life. Its a lot higher than you would think and you climb all the way to the top and just stand there looking over the Champs-Elysées. The base of the Arc de Triumph is surrounded by a round a bout that I swear is the craziest thing in the world. Apparently there are no traffic laws there, only "suggestions" so to get to it you have to walk in a tunnel under ground!

Musee d' Orsay + The Lock Bridge

After visiting the Musee d' Orsay, which was so awesome by the way, we headed over to the ever popular lock bridge where my bestie Rachel and I of course bought a lock to symbolize our friendship and threw the key into the Seine to ensure we would be friends forever.

The Louvre

We spent our Friday night at the Louvre. If you are looking to go there his is an amazing tip that someone told us. Skip the tragically long line and go through the basement entrance, that way you will save about an hour and get right in no problem. This museum is so gigantic and would take days upon days to see everything so we divided and conquered so that each of us could see exactly what we wanted to in the few hours that we were there.

Versailles

We rented bikes and rode through the gardens of Versailles after exploring the palace for a little bit. There is so much to see and space to travel that you would never be able to see enough by foot. It was such a good idea for us to rent the bikes, it took us all over and was such a fun experience.Next time i go back to France I would LOVE to rent row boats to ride down the canals. This place was so elegant, There was soft, classical music playing, perfectly groomed shrubs and a bunch a statues and Nutella filled crepes that would make any one happy!

Here is the thing about Paris, it is so amazing there is incredible street food: crepes, baguettes with butter and cheese and just so much rich history and excitement buzzing around the city. If you have a chance, GO. You will not regret it.
